Lake Trasimeno, Italy

La Battaglia del Trasimeno - Wednesday 1st June to Thursday 30th June

Infiorata di San Luigi Gonzaga - Saturday 25th June to Sunday 26th June

The Battle of Trasimeno is re-enacted, and a revered Saint is celebrated by carpeting the streets with flowers.

Lake Garda, Italy

Italia in Rosa - 4th and 5th of June

An event devoted to rosé wines featuring more than 100 rosés on free tasting on the shores of Lake Garda in the enchanting surroundings of Villa Bertanzi. Single admission ticket €10 includes tasting glass, tasting of typical products of Lake Garda and wine tasting (by appointment).

Limone, Lake Garda, Italy

Serata di suoni e sapori nell'uliveto - Sunday 3rd July 2011.

Nestling on the north-western shores of Lake Garda, the picture postcard town of Limone is well known for its lemon gardens and olive groves and for its simple, flavoursome cuisine.

To celebrate the town’s agricultural hinterland and culinary heritage, this “evening of sounds and flavours” in Limone’s olive groves combines a food fair with the music of various local ensembles.

It’s a delight to the senses and a lovely, relaxing setting for a Sunday evening stroll. And throughout the holiday season the Tourist Board organises free guided walks of the area.

Jazz Festival "Jazz on the Road"- 10th to 14th July, 2011.

Piazza Tebaldo Brusato in Brescia (near Lake Garda and Lake Iseo) is hosting, the Festival "Jazz on the road" 2011. Including 21 musicians and John Scofield - an undisputed king of Jazz and his quartet composed of Mulgrew Miller, as well as Scott Reuben Colley and Bill Stewart.

Bardolino, Lake Garda, Italy

Wine Festival - September to October 2011

Every year the famous wine-making town of Bardolino celebrates the new harvest of the grapes that contribute to the delicious red wine which can be drunk alongside the food stalls that provide typical fast food snacks of the region such as Risotto, different varieties of pasta and sauces, grilled meats and vegetables along with typical antipasti from the local farms and vineyards.

This is all accompanied by a selection of musical concerts both classical and modern ending on the last night with a spectacular fire work display over the lake. Make sure you try the Bardolino Classico a fruity light red, and or a Chiaretto, Bardolino's very own Rose wine along with some locally made bread, cheese and cured meats knowing that it has all been locally produced from one of the best wine growing regions of Italy.

Lake Iseo, Lake Garda, Italy

Various events - July to September 2011

Lake Iseo’s pretty towns are strung out around its 60km perimeter and between them they are putting on a selection of interesting events this summer. Here are a few highlights:

• Jazz concerts by Italian musicians, exhibitions, plus presentations of albums, books, films, taking place on the 2nd & 3rd week of July.
• Sarnico, Sunday 17th July - procession of illuminated boats, plus fireworks.
• The Windsurfing Regata takes place on the 17–18th July.
• Clusane (near Iseo Town), Monday 18th to Monday 25th July - the Lakefish Fiesta is enjoyed by many Italians and their families.
• Iseo Town, Monday 15th August - fireworks on the lake promenade.
• Lake Iseo Swimming Race, 28th August - Lake Iseo swimming race starting from Predore to Iseo.
• Iseo Town, Sunday 18th to 26th Monday September - the Fiesta of Iseo features religious celebrations and a re-enactment of the Queen of Cypress’s entry into the  town (taking place Monday 19th September.) This is followed by a “Gastronomica Week” of ancient specialities based on duck featured by various restaurants.
• Iseo Town, Sunday 25th September - illuminated boats and floating candles on the lake together with music.
• Mushroom & Chestnut Festival, 24 – 25 September Stalls selling mushrooms and chestnuts, accompanied by food stands and shows. Competition for the biggest mushroom and the best basket of chestnuts. Mushroom-based menus in restaurants participating in the event. Large market throughout the streets of Pisogne, also selling various cheeses and meats.
• Sarnico – Lido Nettuno, 25–26th September Aero Nautic Plane display, seaplane + helicopter rides available, food stands. 2kms from town centre.
• Iseo – Franciacorta, 25th September International Mountain Bike Competition from Iseo around Franciacorta.

Sale Marasino, Pumpkins - 5 - 11 September

A week of food and wine events (tasting menus with a pumpkin base created by all the restaurants in the town), historical-cultural events (themed exhibitions and guided tours of local treasures) and moments of pure entertainment (various shows in the streets and concerts). This 7 day event ends with the National Pumpkin Challenge, a competition that awards a prize to the heaviest giant pumpkin from the whole of Italy, the only one of its kind! The event has wonderful scenery and the participants are dressed in costume. A memorable occasion to experience local tradition, both past and present.
