Swiss Classic Tour
Escorted Rail Tour
Escorted by an experienced Inghams guide, this tour is designed for those seeking a true taste of four of Switzerland’s contrasting regions. From the beautiful lakeside setting of Lucerne, to the famous mountain resort of Davos; onto the ‘Matterhorn Village’ of Zermatt, and then the dramatic scenery of Grindelwald, each transfer is by First Class rail and Switzerland’s luggage transfer system does all the hard work - your suitcase is transported for you between each resort - all you need do is sit back and admire the scenery. The real highlight of the holiday is the famous ‘Glacier Express’ rail journey from Davos to Zermatt, where we have arranged for you to enjoy lunch on board. Also included in our price, is the ‘Half-Price Travel Card’, which entitles you to reductions on most mountain railway, cable-car and boat excursions throughout Switzerland.
Alpine Highlights
3-Centre Coach & Rail Holiday
We are delighted to feature this fantastic 3-centre holiday which combines France with Switzerland and provides the opportunity to see 3 world-famous mountains - the Mont Blanc, Matterhorn and Eiger. Chamonix, Zermatt and Grindelwald are all lively Alpine resorts, full of character, and popular with both climbers and non-climbers alike! First stop is Chamonix in France with the Mont Blanc providing a magnificent backdrop to the resort. Onto Switzerland via Martigny and the Mont Blanc Express, passing forests and waterfalls, to reach car-free Zermatt, overlooked by the Matterhorn. Last stop is Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland, home of the Eiger and the start of numerous walking trails. In each resort, a huge variety of excursions by mountain railway and cable-car abound, and walkers will be delighted to find such a wide range of walking possibilities available. Your Inghams representative will be on hand in each resort to help you choose the best excursions, sightseeing and walks.
