This lively, bustling village is one of the most popular summer resorts in the Tyrol, offering an unrivalled range of activities, excursions and events throughout the summer. Situated at the end of the Ziller Valley, there is extensive walking for all levels in 4 local valleys, and the ‘Zillertal Natur’ runs an excellent programme of FREE guided walks. An old-fashioned steam locomotive is a popular way to explore the valley, and in the evenings it is wonderful to sit outside whilst Mayrhofen comes alive with regular live music and traditional festivals.

Hi my name is John and I am part of the team in Mayrhofen this summer. I am now onto my fourth season with the company having worked in Ischgl, St Anton and Lake Garda. I have a background in Marketing specializing in Digital Comms however have somehow landed into the tourism industry after getting a taste Ski Repping at University.
I love Mayrhofen and the Zillertal as a whole as there seems to be so much to do with so many other resorts very close by; we’re going to be kept occupied all summer, white water rafting is on my hitlist! My number 1 tip from working in Austria and Italy is to always accept the schnapps/Grappa from the locals. (They get very offended otherwise!)
A fun fact about me? I am a bit obsessed with bobble hats, the bigger and brighter the better, don’t be surprised if you see me rocking round Mayrhofen in one from my collection in 40 degree heat!
Chris (top right)
Hey up, my name is Chris and this is my 7th season as a rep with Inghams and my 9th in Mayrhofen. I originally came to work in Mayrhofen for 6 weeks and I've been here ever since. I instantly fell for the place as it has absolutely everything. Great hiking, mountain biking, climbing, skiing and much much more. It is also surrounded by stunning scenery and I get on well with the cheerful locals.
My first repping job was for a company selling childrens stickers and John Bishop drinks in our local pub during the Altitude Comedy Festival week. My favourite week of the year!
My top tip is to get yourself to the Hintertux Glacier as the wildlife and natural landscape is spectacular and unique, taking my breath away everytime.
One day I hope to tame a marmot and return to the motherland a hero.
Catherine (top left)
Hello! My name is Catherine and I am part of the Mayrhofen Representative team this summer. This is my first season in Mayrhofen, which I am very excited to do! I have previously worked in resorts in Austria including; Lech, St Anton, Seefeld and Obergurgl. I am extremely looking forward to this summer here in Mayrhofen. Getting out and going on long walks, experience the local cuisine and exploring one of the most beautiful valleys I have had the opportunity to work in.
There is so much to see and do here, from strolling around the surroundings, water sports and getting out for the day to one of the many local attractions – including Innsbruck and Krimml Waterfalls. I would recommend to everyone to try the Applestrudl in as many mountain alms, huts and restaurants as you can to ensure you find the best one. I for one am accepting this challenge. Some of you may know that I am a Lady, for a special birthday present I was given a plot of land making my title Lady Catherine! Can’t wait to see you here!

Hi Everyone, my name's Hannah and I'm one of the resort reps here in Mayrhofen. This is my second summer working here in Mayrhofen, I loved it that much last year, I was very happy to come back! Previous seasons have been winters in Saas Fee (Switzerland), Mayrhofen, and over in St Anton am Arlberg. I have an Environmental Geography degree and have grown up on a farm, so I love being outdoors. You can really get involved here in Mayrhofen, I enjoy the walks, but love the fact that there's so much to do here besides just that.
I'm a very keen skier so having the Hintertux glacier so close means I can get my snow fix even in summer! As a bit of an adrenaline junky I also enjoy pushing my personal boundaries doing things like via ferrata and tubing on the Ziller River. High on my to-do list is a paraglide! I've done a skydive in Queenstown New Zealand so I know I'll love it, but doing it here in the spectacular Zillertal which is close to my heart would be amazing!
My favourite thing about Mayrhofen is the beauty of the area, the village itself is friendly and charming and the scenery is so stunning it tempts you to take the same photo's every day!My top tip (and I speak from - very bad - experience): wear sun cream, even if you don't think you'll need it! Also, try a Hugo - a refreshing prosecco-based drink with elderflower liquor - it's delicious but perhaps goes down a little too easily!
September (16-30) is when the villages in the Tyrol celebrate the annual ‘Almabtrieb’. The festival celebrates the end of the summer when the cows are led down the mountain to their stables for the winter. Cowbells echo through the valley as hundreds of cows pass by, all highly decorated in traditional costume. You’ll be welcome to join in the festivities!
Enjoy a fun day out in Königsleiten with a friendly local, Christian Eder, who will take you on a scenic guided walk on the world’s first Yodel Hiking Trail! During the walk, stop at eight special yodel stations where you can listen to audio recordings of popular yodels and then try them out yourself. Enjoy local delicacies in the Larmach Alm for lunch (pay locally, optional). A real family experience, suitable for all ages. Exclusive to Inghams.
