Austria's Festival City of Music

Salzburg celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2015 of the ‘Sound of Music’, which was filmed in Salzburgerland, and all Inghams guests receive a free ‘Sound of Music Special’ DVD. Magnificently set below a medieval fortress, Salzburg is one of Europe’s loveliest cities and the birthplace of Mozart. On the banks of the river Salzach and surrounded by mountains, Salzburg’s picturesque and historic old city is a recognised World Heritage site. On the left bank of the river between the Mönchsberg and Festungsberg lie a maze of narrow cobbled streets, arcaded courtyards and grand tall houses contrasting beautifully with the Cathedral and Residenz Palace from the Baroque, Rococo and Neo-Classical periods. Art galleries, gardens and museums are also plentiful. Additionally, the Salzburg Music Festival takes place every year in August and is the city’s premier event. Guests staying in Westendorf, Niederau & Oberau, Zell am See & Kaprun, Ellmau & Scheffau, and Söll receive a FREE excursion to Salzburg.
