The excellent Heller botanical gardens feature over 2000 varieties of plants from all over the world, many sub-tropical. The little tourist train runs up to the old village of Gardone Sopra (€2 return) where you can have lunch, walk or just admire the superb views of the lake. On the way down, don't miss the striking Vittoriale gardens and museum.
