Zell am See

Zell am See is one of the most scenic and well-loved lakes and mountains resorts in Austria. Beautifully located, directly on the shores of Lake Zell, it is also close to the Hohe Tauern National Park and the magnificent Grossglockner mountain region. Most of Zell am See’s medieval centre is traffic-free with a variety of shops and attractive pavement cafés. Just 15 minutes away by local bus, the pretty mountain village of Kaprun is an ideal place for walking and cycling, with year round skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier

Situated at a junction of two valleys, Zell am See, Austria is an ideal departure point for excursions. Most of Zell am See's medieval centre is traffic-free with a variety of shops and attractive pavement cafés. There are magnificent walks accessed by gondola on the Schmittenhöhe mountain, and the resort offers a wide range of activities. In the evenings, the night lake cruise is an enjoyable event and concerts, including Austrian music, are regularly arranged. There is also a weekly village festival in July and August.
