Places to see in Lake Como

Bellagio has a spectacular position on a promontory which divides the southern part of the lake. Menaggio is a colourful little town with shops, restaurants and bars around the central piazza. To the south lie Cadenabbia and Tremezzo, easy walking distance from each other along the lakeside, with the botanical gardens of Villa Carlotta in between. Both resorts have a small selection of pavement cafés that will keep you well fed on your holidays in Lake Como. Lenno is a pretty village just south of Tremezzo and has a charming harbour, interesting old town and weekly market. Impressive Villa Balbianello is nearby.
