    3 MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCES

The Matterhorn village boasts 3 easily-accessible peaks – Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, Rothorn and Gornergrat.

The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable-car will take to a height of over 3,800m. Almost in Italian territory, here you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. Visit the 'Glacier Palace', located 15 metres below the surface of the glacier, to discover the display of amazing ice sculptures, or have lunch at high altitude at the summit restaurant.

The Rothorn paradise offers some of the best views of the Matterhorn so be sure to take your camera! Accessible by cable-car and gondola from the village, this is a great starting point for many walks. Nature lovers will be in their element exploring the themed wildlife trails, where alpine flora and fauna, including marmots, can be found. Stop off at Sunnegga paradise on the way, and have a lunch stop at the
    popular mountain restaurant.

The Gornergrat panorama is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the area, with 29 peaks over 4,000m adorning the landscape and the second-largest glacier in the Alps, 'the Gornergletscher' almost close enough to touch! The journey to the summit of 3,089m is just as impressive: the highest open-air railway in Europe takes you through a variety of landscapes
including alpine meadows, rocky gorges and mountain lakes. A trip to the Gornergrat is a must!
