Walking Information
Bled is a good base from which to partake in any number of hikes into the eastern tranche of the Julian Alps. Although there is some good walking around Bled for all levels of expertise, there are some very enjoyable walks in the immediate vicinity of the lake. Velika Osojnica; the south western corner of the lake or a gentler, alternative walk up to Straza, the south west of the Grand Hotel Toplice. Take a stroll around the lake, climb up to the castle for some spectacular views over the lake. The hills surrounding Bled offer a choice of interesting walks. Also for guests staying at the Hotel Ribno many more walks along the Sava Bohinjka Valley can be taken directly from the hotel's doorstep.

Discover the Julian Alps
4 Centre Holidays
Discover magnificent landscapes, dramatic scenery, and the varied flora & fauna and wildlife of the Julian Alps. The majestic backdrops are formed by the jagged summits of Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain (2,864m) and namesake of the country’s National Park which covers 880 sq km. Nestled in this picturesque area are the intriguing destinations of Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, Kranjska Gora and Bovec: Lake Bled’s beauty is renowned, nestled amidst dense pine forests and surrounded by the dramatic snow-capped Julian Alps, and its famous tiny wooded island has become the national symbol of Slovenia. Fairytale Lake Bohinj enjoys one of the most picturesque and unspoilt natural settings at the foot of Mt Vogel. The small picturesque village of Kranjska Gora sits at the confluence of the Sava Dolinka and Pišnica valleys against the dramatic backdrop of the Julian Alps. Bovec offers a fantastic array of activities in its idyllic valley which also was the setting for many scenes from the latest ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ film.
Adriatic Favourites
3-centre holiday
We are delighted to offer this wonderful 3-centre holiday, taking in both Croatia and Slovenia and giving you the opportunity to experience the Istrian coast as well as beautiful mountain scenery. With a choice of two resort combinations, you can be sure to make the most out of your stay. The picturesque resort of Rovinj with its cobbled streets in the Istrian quarter has the allure of an ancient harbour town, whilst Opatija exudes a Mediterranean ambience and a touch of sophistication. Portoroz, on the Slovenian coast, has a flavour of the Italian Riviera, contrasting with the fairytale appearance of Lake Bled with its medieval castle overlooking the lake and the church on its island. Experience true Slovenian hospitality in the traditional mountain resort of Kranjska Gora, surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Julian Alps. Our Inghams representatives will be on hand in each resort with recommendations on how best to enjoy your holiday to the full.
