Villars occupies a privileged position on a sunny balcony high above the Rhone Valley, with superb views towards the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc Massif. The village has lots of charm, with its attractive main street full of interesting little shops, tempting cafés and restaurants. Guests can take advantage of the ‘Access Pass’ which is offered to Villars guests - this gives FREE use of most of the local cable cars, buses and mountain railways which access a vast range of lovely walks, and a journey on the cog-wheel railway up to Bretaye is a must. There are also many restaurants which make excellent lunch stops in the mountains. There are countless excursion possibilities within easy reach, such as Les Diablerets with its glacier and cable-car, Montreux and Vevey on Lake Geneva, the salt mines in Bex and the Chateau d’Aigle with its wine museum amongst the nearby vineyards.
