DAYS 1-3 ROVINJ OR OPATIJA

Travel by coach from Ljubljana airport to the Croatian coast. Explore Rovinj at your own pace, and soak up the buzz and atmosphere of this harbour town. Visit the Campanile of St. Euphemia which dominates the skyline of this beautiful resort and experience the many shops, cafés and tavernas in the Istrian quarter. Join our trip to the Plitvice Lakes, a magnificent national park with sixteen lakes, waterfalls and surrounded by deep woodland and wonderful scenery.

In Opatija, enjoy a stroll along the Lungomare promenade which stretches for 12km and take in the many vistas along the way. Visit the nearby village of Lovran, take a boat to Krk and Cres Islands or join an optional excursion taking you to nearby fortified hilltop villages, each with its own character and steeped in history. This is your opportunity to discover some of the wonderful legends of Istria.

DAY 4-7 PORTOROZ

You will be taken to your hotel in this cosmopolitan style Slovenian resort. Both hotels have an ideal location in the resort, close to the seafront and within walking distance of the town centre. Portoroz, or the ‘Port of Roses’ with its floral promenade, is a great base for enjoying this area to the full. This elegant town with its marina and restaurants, cafés and boutiques rivals many Mediterranean resorts. Take a walk along the 2km shoreline to Piran where you can meander down the narrow streets of the Old Town, admire the traditional houses, Tartini Square and the charming harbour. Join our optional excursion to Trieste, the perfect opportunity to visit this beautiful Italian city as well as the wonderful Miramare Castle.

DAYS 8-10 KRANJSKA GORA OR BLED

Travel inland to your third resort. The pretty village of Kranjska Gora has a stunning backdrop as the mighty Julian Alps overlook the resort. With numerous marked hiking trails for you to enjoy, the walking here is suitable for all levels of expertise and you can discover an abundance of Alpine flora and fauna along the way. Lake Jasna will certainly captivate you with its beauty, and is just a short stroll from the village centre.

The idyllic resort of Bled offers something for everyone. Take a gentle walk along the lakeside, a trip on one of the Pletna boats or horse drawn carriages and ring the bell in the Church of Saint Mary on Slovenia’s only island. Bled is also famed for its cream cakes, so make sure you indulge yourself with an original ‘kremsnita’. Participate in our Julian Alps optional excursion, for an opportunity to capture spectacular views of this mountain range, pass through traditional Slovenian villages and marvel at the deep emerald Soca River, in the heart of the Triglav National Park or take an optional trip to the magnificent Postojna Caves and marvel at the fascinating rock formations.
