
3-centre rail holiday
Day 1 Fly to Switzerland , with rail transfer to your resort. 3 or 4 night stay in Montreux. Whilst here, take a cogwheel railway journey to Les Rochers de Naye for panoramic views, or enjoy a boatride on Lake Geneva. Or why not discover the charms of Montreux itself, known locally as the ‘Swiss Riviera’ because of the abundant flowers and palm trees along the lakeside promenade.
Day 4 or 5 Travel by rail to Interlaken (approx. 3¾ hrs) for a 3 or 4 night stay. Once in Interlaken , you’ll be spoilt for choice for things to see and do - why not take a trip to the ‘Jungfraujoch’ on the highest mountain railway in the world, or relax and enjoy a boat trip visiting the castles and villages on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz. There’s lots to discover in the fantastic Jungfrau region.
Day 8 Travel by train over the Brunig Pass and along the shorelines of 5 picturesque lakes to Lucerne (approx 2 hrs). Whilst here, take an excursion up to Mount Rigi, a roundtrip involving a boat, the oldest cogwheel railway in the world, and a cable-car! Or explore the charms of Lucerne ’s own pretty traffic-free ‘old town’.
Day 11 or 12 Travel by train from Lucerne to the airport for your flight home (approx. 1¼ hrs).
