3-Centre Rail Holiday

10 or 11 Nights (Wengen – Kandersteg – Zermatt)

DAY 1: Fly to Switzerland, with rail transfer to Wengen (approx. 3-4hrs). 3 or 4 night stay in car-free Wengen. Take a trip to the ‘Jungfraujoch’ on the highest mountain railway in the world, or on the Männlichen cable-car for Eiger views. Mountain railways, cable-cars and boats abound - the choice of excursions in this area is fantastic!

DAY 4 OR 5: Travel by rail to Kandersteg (approx. 2hrs 30mins) for a 3 or 4 night stay. Once in Kandersteg, take a cable-car up to Oeschinen Lake or to Sunnbuel. There’s a wide variety of walking possibilities in Kandersteg to suit all levels – from gentle strolls to more strenuous hill-walking.

DAY 8: Travel by train to Zermatt (approx. 2hrs 30mins), famous for the ‘Matterhorn’. Whilst here, take a walk through the narrow streets, over bridges and rushing streams, to explore this pretty traffic-free village. Or take the cable-cars up to the Klein Matterhorn for a glacier experience and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

DAY 11 OR 12: Travel by train from Zermatt to the airport for your flight home (approx. 4hrs).
