ITINERARY
Day 1 Travel to Salzburg airport from where a coach takes you to your chosen hotel in Kitzbühel. Both Kitzbühel hotels are located in the pedestrianised centre of the town, making both exploring the town and soaking up its special atmosphere easy. Our resort representatives will be on hand to advise you on the various activities and day trips available.
Days 2 - 4 Kitzbühel Time at leisure to see Kitzbühel and the surrounding area. Possibilities include walking, biking, horse-riding, golf, tennis, swimming (both indoor and at the Schwarzsee lake) or a visit to the alpine flower garden on the Kitzbüheler Horn or the wildlife park at Aurach. Excursions to Lake Achensee and the Grossglockner can be booked through our representatives.
Day 4 Transfer to your chosen hotel in Filzmoos. Both hotels are situated approximately 5 minutes' walk from the centre of Filzmoos. Our representative will be on hand to advise you of how to make the most of your stay in Filzmoos.
Days 5 - 7 Filzmoos Filzmoos is an ideal centre for walkers, offering both gentle valley walks as well as steeper hikes to mountain summits, all of them surrounded by the magnificent scenery of the Dachstein and Bischofsmütze mountains. In addition, there is a large indoor and outdoor pool complex in Filzmoos, as well as tennis, minigolf, horse-riding, cycling and fishing. Local attractions include the farmhouse museum and the Dachstein ice caves, or book day trips to the Liechtenstein gorge or Salzburg through our representative.
Day 7 Transfer to your chosen hotel in St. Gilgen. Both hotels are centrally located in St. Gilgen and are close to the lake. Our representative will be on hand to help you make the most of your time here.
Days 8 - 11 St. Gilgen The pretty lakeside resort of St. Gilgen lies on the north-west shore of Lake Wolfgang and is famous for its association with the Mozart family. The gentle lakeside promenade offers fantastic views across to the Schafberg mountain, while St. Wolfgang is only a steam boat ride away. Walkers can take the cable car up the Zwölferhorn from where there is an abundance of paths all offering spectacular views, whilst water lovers can enjoy a dip in the lake or one of the many watersports on offer. There is also the possibility of trips around the Salzkammergut and to Berchtesgaden, bookable through our representative.
Day 11 Transfer to Salzburg airport, or to the hotel Gablerbräu in Salzburg for the rest of your holiday.
Optional 4th centre extension:Days 11 -14 Salzburg Finish off with a few days enjoying the sights of Salzburg, including the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the Cathedral, St. Peter’s Benedictine Abbey, the Mirabell Palace, the Residenz and Old Market Squares as well as Mozart’s birthplace in the famous Getreidegasse. Maybe take a bus out to the Hellbrunn Palace to see the water gardens or take the cable railway up to the Mönchsberg and enjoy a coffee at the famous Cafe Winkler and take in the views of the city.For full resort details see Kitzbühel p.149, Filzmoos p. 163, St. Gilgen p. 170 and Salzburg p. 177.
