Life goes on much as it has for centuries
in this traditional farming village.
Lying on a scenic plateau surrounded
by alpine pastures, Westendorf offers
extensive walking. Numerous rambles
lead to all parts of the wide valley,
over to Kirchberg and Kitzbühel, as
well as longer hikes to mountain farms
and hamlets. A choice of pathways is
accessed via the gondola lift which
ascends to 6,000 ft. From the top of
Alpenrose mountain, you can admire
the views and relax with a drink at
the mountain restaurant there. Riding,
mini-golf, tennis, outdoor swimming and bowling are all available, as well as a wide selection of interesting excursions. Tyrolean shows are held in the evenings or you can join the locals in one of the friendly cafés or bars. Weekly brass band concerts start in early June.
