Itinerary: Alaska Cruise, Rail & Rockies
Days 1-3: Vancouver Fly to Vancouver for a short taxi transfer to your downtown hotel. Visit Stanley Park, Chinatown or historic Gastown or enjoy one of our optional excursions including scenic cruises to Victoria on Vancouver Island, whale-watching trips or a guided city tour. Days 4-10: 7 Nights NCL Alaska Cruise This afternoon board the ‘Norwegian Sun’ for a front row seat to one of the greatest shows on earth. Journey north through the Inside Passage to towering snow-capped peaks, cascading waterfalls and giant glaciers calving into placid ice-blue fjord waters. See whales, eagles, bears and more. Days 11-12: Vancouver Disembark after breakfast and enjoy a further two days is this vibrant and fascinating city.
Days 13-14: Rocky Mountaineer Train All aboard the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer for a spectacular two day rail journey to the Rockies. First day highlights include Hells Gate in Fraser Canyon and overnight stop in Kamloops with optional prebookable Dinner and Musical Revue. Our second day enters the dramatic Cariboo and Monashee mountains, with glaciers, waterfalls and wildlife, before passing Mount Robson the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. We arrive late afternoon into Jasper.
Days 15-16: Jasper National Park Located in the Rockies’ largest National Park, Jasper has a friendly laid-back frontier atmosphere with a wide range of excursion, recreational and walking opportunities. Don’t miss a scenic cruise on Maligne Lake, white-water rafting, or hiking to Angel Glacier. For full resort details see pages 22-23.
Days 17-20: Banff National Park Start with a spellbinding 230kms trip along the Icefields Parkway, one of the world’s great drives, including an optional snowcoach tour on the Columbia Icefields. Arrive in the lively town of Banff with its many shops, restaurants and excursion possibilities. Highlights include the gondola and hot-springs, Lake Minnewanka, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. Itinerary Variations by Airport: Gatwick, Heathrow and Glasgow guests arrive Vancouver on Thursdays and depart Calgary on Wednesdays.Manchester guests arrive Vancouver on Saturdays, depart Calgary on Fridays, and follow the itineray as stated above except for having just one night in Vancouver before the Alaska cruise and 4 nights after, instead of 3 nights before and 2 nights after.
