Itinerary: Canadian Rockies Explorer





The dramatic untamed wilderness of the
Canadian Rocky Mountains is one of
the ‘must-see’ natural wonders of the
world. Our leisurely tour gives you
time to enjoy all 3 resorts to the
full, starting with 4 nights in
magnificent Lake Louise, with its excellent
walking trails and the sublime beauty
of Moraine Lake and nearby Yoho National
Park. Next we drive the spellbinding
230 km Icefields Parkway with its lofty
peaks, giant glaciers and aquamarine
lakes to Jasper. Here we enjoy 5 nights
in this friendly little frontier town
with time to explore the legendary beauty of Maligne Lake and the wide range of activities, excursions, walking and wildlife in the Rockies’ largest national park. Our final 5 nights are spent in the lively town of Banff with its stunning setting, wealth of shops, bars, restaurants, guided excursions and outdoor pursuits. In each resort our Inghams representative will be on hand to recommend how best to enjoy your holiday to the full.

ITINERARY

Days 1-4: Lake Louise Fly to Calgary and transfer to magnificent Lake Louise in Banff NP. In addition to the many scenic walks from Lake Louise and sublime Moraine Lake, take an excursion to Yoho NP, Takakkaw Falls and Emerald Lake, raft the Kicking Horse River, visit a grizzly bear refuge, go horse-riding or canoeing or up the mountain gondola.
Days 5-9: Jasper Start with an absolutely spellbinding 230km trip along the Icefields Parkway, one of the world’s great drives, stopping at Peyto Lake and Athabasca Falls enroute. In friendly Jasper there are endless excursions, recreational and walking opportunities. Don’t miss a cruise to Spirit Island on lovely Maligne Lake, white-water rafting or a walk to Angel Glacier at Cavell Meadows.
Days 10-14: Banff After retracing our steps along the Icefields Parkway, stopping at the Columbia Icefields for an optional tour, we arrive in the lively town of Banff with its many shops, restaurants and excursion possibilities. Highlights include Lake Minnewanka, Johnston Canyon, the gondola and hot springs, and a visit to the famous Banff Springs Hotel.
Itinerary variations by airport Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester guests arrive and depart Calgary Airport on Fridays and follow the itineray exactly as described.Glasgow guests arrive and depart Calgary on Wednesdays but begin their tour with 5 nights in Jasper followed by 4 nights in Lake Louise ending with 5 nights in Banff.
