opportunities to observe bear, moose,
elk and other mammals in the wild.

with its massive glaciers, snowcapped
peaks, turquoise lakes, and lush flower-filled
alpine meadows. There are many rewarding
walking trails close to town, as well
as hikes into Tonquin Valley or around beautiful Maligne Lake. Other excursion possibilities include a cruise to Spirit Island, a Via Rail train ride, Miette Hot Springs, river-rafting, Whistlers Mountain cable-car, or heli-hiking on Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies.
