Explore historic Lazio from this lakeside setting

Lake Bolsena lies 100kms north of Rome
in a relatively undiscovered part of
Italy. The largest volcanic lake in
Italy, Bolsena’s deep waters are exceptionally
clean and sustain a thriving fishing
community. Bolsena is the principal
tourist centre on the lake’s shores.
Founded by the Etruscans, Bolsena’s
rich traditions are proudly celebrated
today. The old town is dominated
by the Monaldeschi castle and its raised
position affords lovely views of the
lake from its squares and medieval
streets. These run down to the lakeside,
where our hotels are.The attractive promenade provides shady places to relax, take a drink at one of the terrace cafés and enjoy the view. A varied excursion programme ensures you can explore this unspoilt area to the full.
