The villages on Lake Como each have
their own character but all enjoy wonderful
views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Menaggio is a colourful little town
with shops, restaurants and bars around
the central piazza. There is an attractive
promenade and harbourfront and the
hills behind the resort offer scenic
walks. To the south lie Cadenabbia
and Tremezzo, easy walking distance
from each other along the lakeside,
with the botanical gardens of Villa
Carlotta in between. Both resorts have a small selection of pavement cafés. Lenno is a pretty village just south of Tremezzo and has a charming harbour, interesting old town and weekly market. Impressive Villa Balbianello is nearby.
