Itinerary: Fjord Highlights
Days 1-4: Ulvik (Saturday - Tuesday nights) Fly to Bergen and then by coach to the picturesque village of Ulvik on beautiful Hardangerfjord. In addition to wonderful walks, optional excursions include the Vøringfossen Waterfalls, spectacular Osa Mountain or a scenic fjord cruise to Lofthus and Utne. Days 5-7: Voss (Wednesday - Friday nights) A short 45 minute transfer to the ideally located lakeside village of Voss. Enjoy the views and walk from the top of Mt. Hangar cable car. Take a day trip to fascinating Bergen.The optional ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ fjord cruise and Flåm Railway trip is a must. For full resort details see pages 236-7. Day 8-11: Balestrand (Saturday - Tuesday nights) A scenic 2 hour coach trip over the Vikafjell mountains and then by ferry across magnificent Sognefjord to scenic Balestrand. Row a boat or bike along this beautiful fjord, join our Wanderwalk or take an excursion up Fjaerlandfjord to the majestic Jøstedal Glacier.For full resort details see pages 234-5.Return by coach (3½ hrs) on Wednesday to Bergen Airport for your flight to the UK or extend your tour with a 3 night stay in Bergen as follows:
Optional tour extension:Day 12-14: Bergen (Wednesday - Friday nights) A glorious 3½ hour scenic express boat transfer to Bergen along the stunning Sognefjord and through the lovely coastal islands to Bergen’s inner harbour for a short transfer to your hotel.
