Voss lies on the scenic shores of Lake
Vang, encircled by mountains and perfectly
situated midway between western Norway’s
two largest and most beautiful fjords,
Hardanger to the south and Sogne to
the north. Few other resorts can match
the array of activities or variety
of excursions made possible by its
location. Bergen, the Fjords and the
famous Flåm Railway are all within
easy reach. The Mt. Hangur cable-car
affords wonderful views over the town
and lake and, together with the reliable
local buses, opens up a variety of
walking trails. The town itself is centred around its attractive 13th century church and has an abundance of local arts and crafts shops. Relaxing cultural alternatives include farm museum visits, folklore evenings, concerts, scenic helicopter flights or simply strolling along the lakeshore enjoying the spectacular scenery.
