Guided Walking in Madeira
The island offers 500 miles of “levada” walks following the irrigation channels originally built to carry water down the mountain. These are graded from simple strolls to more challenging hikes. You can simply buy a map and follow your own trail or join a tour with an experienced guide. Stout walking shoes are recommended.
