Equipment & ski hire

Booking Ski Equipment Hire

"Ski packs" is a term used to refer to ski, board and boot hire, ski lessons and lift passes collectively. We strongly recommend you pre-book your lift pass, equipment hire and tuition before you travel to save £££s and time with our special offers and price guarantees.

All prices for pre-bookable ski pack items are shown on the resort pages. Each ski resort guide has a ski packs information tab where you will find out about the different options, prices and any special offers on ski packs for each resort.

Great Reasons to Pre-book your Ski Equipment hire

As well as ensuring quality, service, location and the reassuring back-up of knowing your Inghams Representative is always on hand to resolve the slightest problem, pre-booking your ski equipment means

  • Additional Savings like FREE Days, FREE Upgrades and Money Off, 2-for-1 or Buy One Get One Half Price

offers may only be available to early bookers and are not available locally.

  • Ski-Saver Packs - save £££s when you purchase all three key items together - lift pass, ski hire and tuition.

Our Beginner Saver packs includes equipment hire, tuition, and a lift pass where necessary, saving up to £140* per person on buying these items individually. Please note that these Saver Packs are not available locally and must be pre-booked.

For Intermediates, these great value packs save you around 10% on purchasing the items individually. Packs vary between resorts and generally include your lift pass, ski hire and 3 or 5 days tuition. Ski boots are not always included. Please note that these Saver Packs are not available locally and must be pre-booked.

  • First time skiing can be a daunting prospect...

... by pre-booking your tuition, your Inghams Rep will organise everything in advance for you, guide you towards the hire shop, have your ski school vouchers ready on arrival in resort and ensure that you reach the correct ski school meeting point for your first lesson.

Please see the resort pages for details on equipment prices. Please note, this offer must be booked at least 2 weeks prior to departure, does not apply to ski saver packs. When booking online, you will be presented through the booking process with the resort-relevant options so you can pre-book your ski packs at the same time as booking your holiday.

Equipment hire

Up to three categories of skis and boots are available in most of our resorts. The below categories can be used for guidance, although skis will vary from resort to resort. See individual resort pages for details.

Adult Ski Categories

Blue

The 'Blue' category is a carving ski with flex and side-cut suitable for beginners and early intermediates.

Red

The 'Red' category is a carving ski which is only one season old or new this winter and is suitable for all keen intermediate skiers.

Black

The 'Black' category is normally the highest grade of ski available to hire. These are carving skis, generally this season's new models, and are suitable for good intermediate/advanced skiers who can benefit from the higher technical specifications of this ski.

Provided you take every precaution to safeguard hired ski equipment, the Inghams insurance policy covers you for loss or damage. Please note, hired skis that were new at the beginning of the season may look scratched and no longer new by the middle of the season, but they will still have well-maintained edges and bases. Our prices refer to 6 days' hire (other durations are available - please enquire at the time of booking). Please advise our administration department if you require size 11 (or above) ski boots. Your request will then be passed to the resort before you arrive, though we cannot guarantee availability.

Interchanging skis and board

In most of our resorts you can swap 'Red' category skis for a snowboard (or vice versa) for part of the week. It is also possible to interchange ski school adn snowboard school in most resorts in Austria (changeover on Wednesdays).

Snowboard and Child Ski Categories

Most resorts offer just one category of snowboard and child skis & boots which is usually "standard" equipment and FREE helmets are included for children in many resorts when equipment is pre-booked.

Ski & Snowboard Tuition

See our "Ski and Board School" page for further information. We strongly advise pre-booking all tuition to guarantee your places are reserved, especially for any peak holiday dates.

Lift Passes & Lift pass Price Guarantee

See our lift passes information page.

How to add ski packs at a later date to your holiday booking

If ski packs or excursions are not booked when you confirm your holiday, you will be charged the price quoted by our reservations system valid at the time the ski packs (not the holiday) are booked. Some ski pack items/prices are subject to change.

Alternatively, ski pack options can be added after your holiday booking by calling our reservations department on 01483 79 11 22 or requesting them online on the ski pack request form.

To add ski pack items is free outside of 4 weeks prior to departure and £15 within 2-4 weeks for Europe and 3-4 weeks for Canada.

Please note: Ski equipment must be added to a booking at least 2 weeks prior to departure.

Ski & Board Saver Packs

Special ski packs are available in most resorts and these represent considerable financial savings over separate items.

Children

We pre-sell children's ski pack facilities in most of our resorts and special reductions are given in most cases. We advise that bookings for under 6's are made locally as, in the case of ski hire and ski school, special prices generally exist. In some resorts lift companies often allow children to ski free of charge. The age limits for children vary from country to country and are given for each facility in the 'notes' column of the Ski Pack panel for each resort (proof of age may be requested locally).

The age of your child given at the time of booking should be the age he/she will be at the time of your last day on holiday - not the age at the time of booking. See resort pages for details of our ski kindergarten packages for younger children.

Helmets

We recommend the use of ski helmets in all resorts. These are provided free in Andorra, Lapland and many resorts in France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland when renting equipment (see resort pages for details). In Italy, Slovenia and parts of Austria (Salzburg and Upper Austria) it is compulsory for children (up to 13yrs inclusive in Italy, up to 14yrs inclusive in Slovenia, up to 15yrs inclusive in Austria) to wear a helmet on the slopes.

Booking Notes

2-For-1 Offers

Where 2-for-1 offers are featured in your resort, these should be booked against one person for two items. These offers represent two people for the price of one - not two courses or two weeks for the price of one.

14 Night Holidays - Europe

Clients booking a 14 night holiday but requiring ski pack facilities for 1 week only should book locally through our resort representatives.

USA and Canada

In the USA and Canada we offer any duration of ski packs you require (minimum 6 days). Our ski pack prices refer to a minimum 6 days' duration with a 'one day add-on' for additional days required.

Terms and Conditions

All prices for pre-bookable items are shown in the relevant price panel on the resort pages. If ski packs or excursions are not booked when you confirm your holiday, you will be charged the price quoted by our reservations system valid at the time the ski packs (not the holiday) are booked. Some ski pack items/offers in this brochure may not be available in subsequent editions and prices are subject to change. Pre-booked ski packs do not form part of your package holiday contract with us and we do not accept responsibility for any service which is provided by the supplier as part of the ski pack. See booking conditions.

Cancellation in resort

No refund will be considered if you decide in your resort not to use any pre-booked ski pack items. In the case of illness or an accident, you must obtain a medical certificate to claim from your insurer when you return home. Refunds are not considered by Inghams on your return from holiday.

See booking terms and conditions for further information.

Please note: Ski packs do not form part of your holiday package.
