Skiing holidays in next door Galtür offer a charming village that sits high at the end of the Paznaun valley, has a fantastic snow record and is just a 10 minute free bus ride (9km) from Ischgl. Ideal for those looking for a quiet and scenic location with access to a large ski area, its slopes are great for beginners and lower intermediates.

Ski holidays in Ischgl are aimed at intermediates and advanced skiers, who will enjoy the long valley ‘Alp Trida’ run to the duty-free enclave of Samnaun in Switzerland, and offers just as much off-piste as on-piste. Ischgl prides itself on its ultra modern lift system, many of which are high-speed and even heated, giving easy access to more than 238km of piste, a true paradise for keen skiers. Nursery slopes in Ischgl are located in an open sunny bowl at the top of the gondola, ensuring good snow.

Ischgl is a lively and fashionable village with renowned yet varied apres-ski and the nightlife is positively urban in nature with a vast array of cafés, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Galtür is a pretty, unspoilt little village with its own 40km ski area and linked to neighbouring Ischgl by a frequent bus service (15mins), free with the lift pass.

The nursery slopes are situated at the Idalp, reached by gondola. Galtür is the beginners paradise with its own convenient nursery slopes.

Intermediates skiing in Ischgl & Galtür

The Silvretta Ski Arena with six interconnecting valleys and over 50 blue and red runs is ideal for intermediates. 10 of its 42 lifts rise up to 2,700 metres and, along with an extensive network of snow canons and north-facing runs back to the village, Ischgl enjoys an extremely reliable snow record. There is also a selection of picturesque forest runs and the lovely long Alp Trida run down to Samnaun (included on the local area pass).

Advanced skiing in Ischgl & Galtür

With as many kilometres of off-piste as on piste skiing, Ischgl is an expert skiers paradise. Most of it is easily accesssible next to the pistes; for other sections a guide is required. Depending on conditions there is easy access to either powder or firm Spring snow. There are also 48km of black runs, many with moguls.

The snowARTpark is the largest interconnecting boarders park in the Alps and consists of 3 sections: beginners, intermediates and professional. In addition, with its long, uncrowded pistes and chairlift network, Ischgl is a good choice for boarders of all levels.
