Skiing holidays to Bormio are situated in the impressive Stelvio National Park, with a wonderful combination of a charming town which has retained its Italian character and a ski area that is worthy of its world champion status, with the the famous "Stelvio" world cup race taking place here between Christmas and New Year.

Bormio skiing offers an extensive and efficient ski lift system which has superb connections and well maintained pistes and lots of varied skiing. Bormio's 1792m (5879 feet) vertical is one of the three greatest in Italy - skiers will enjoy the long hassle-free sweeping descents of up 13km (9 miles) run from the summit to the town.

In addition to Bormio's modern skiing facilities, the cobbled medievel streets of the old market town have an array of interesting shops and atmospheric bars and restaurants. The town is also noted for its hot springs that have been tapped to provide spa baths which members of the Roman aristocracy historically enjoyed in the mountainous scenery, most still in use today. With its nine spring sources and the thermal bath, Bormio offers pure relaxation.

Beginners skiing in Bormio

Beginners are well catered for at the top of the Cable car Bormio 200,  the main nursery area with guaranteed snow. Once you are confident you can easily cross over to the more challenging runs.

Intermediate skiing in Bormio

Intermediates will appreciate the excellent range of varied runs. Take the Bormio 2000 cable car to the summit for wide open pistes which give you some great runs back to the top of Bormio 2000 cable car or back to the village.  

Advanced skiing in Bormio

The Pista Stelvio one of the most exciting men's world cup downhill runs and must not be missed. The area lift pass also covers all lifts to nearby Santa Caterina and Livigno, good for days out and extending your ski area.
