Ideal location 

Everything you need for your winter break is only a short walk away, located at the top end of Saariselkä, you'll have easy access to a range of scenic routes - perfect for hiking or cross country skiing,  bars and restaurants and excursions. The bus stop is just outside the hotel too, so heading to the ski slopes is really easy as well.

Wellness facilities 

The main draw of the hotel is its spa and leisure facilities, featuring an indoor swimming pool with waterslides and spa area for the adults. The children can have fun racing down the waterslides, while the adults can unwind and rest in the Finnish sauna. After a day spent adventuring in Saariselkä, the whole family can warm up and rest in the jacuzzi.  Indulge yourself with a treatment from the spa menu for the ultimate treat.

Warm and modern

The rooms are comfortable, and have the amenities needed for a relaxing stay in Lapland including a TV, drying cabinet or heated towel rail, a kettle and a hairdryer. The lounge features an open fireplace, making it the ideal location for a digestif at the end of the day. The dining area is contemporary and modern, all meals are served buffet style - each day there is a choice of menu often featuring a choice of Lappish and international dishes. Meal times are flexible, so you can choose a time that suits you.

Located in the wild mystical north of Lapland, Saariselkä is an exceptionally friendly, uncommercialised resort with a unique frontier atmosphere. The skies are often a deep hue of pink and purple, the pine trees heavily laden with snow, and being so far north there is a good possibility of seeing the Northern Lights too. In Saariselkä, you're deep in Sámi country, where many people from the indigenous community of Lapland live and work today.

Arctic skiing and activity holidays in Saariselkä

Saariselkä is Europe's most northern ski resort and is renowned for its excellent cross-country ski trails in the adjoining National Park. In Saariselkä there are over 200 kilometres of cross country ski tracks, 34 of which are illuminated - so you can make the most of these tracks despite the polar nights. The general ski area is spread across the Iisakkipää and Kaunispää fells and is best suited for beginners and intermediates. The ski schools here speak English and all of the slopes lead back to the same area in the valley where you'll be able to warm up in the café or by a campfire.

Apart from skiing, Saariselkä offers a range of winter excursions that'll make you Lapland holiday complete. There'll be plenty of opportunities for reindeer and husky sleigh safaris as well as snowmobiling, snow shoeing and many more exciting activities! Alternatively if you can't decide where you want to stay, combine the northern lights adventure with a visit to Saariselkä resort centre with our 'Muotka 2-Centre Adventure' for the best of both worlds. We also offer single night excursions if you would prefer - for a really memorable experience sleep under the magical night sky in a cosy Aurora Cabin.

We offer a range of hotels and apartments in Saariselkä, all located in the centre of resort so you'll have easy access to everything you'll need during your stay. The Holiday Club Spa Hotel has some great spa facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool. 

New for winter 2023/2024, the Kuukkeli Log Cabins will help you achieve that magical Lapland feel on your ski holiday. These cosy cabins are the ideal for a trip in the arctic circle and are also located close to the centre of resort.

Feel like adding a touch of luxury to your trip? We'd recommend staying in the Star Arctic Hotel or the Top Star Glass Cubes. Both of these stylish accommodations are located on top of the fell so are the perfect choice if you're hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern lights.

Standard Twin Rooms are around 22mand sleeps two to four people with two twin beds and sofa, which can be turned into a double sofa bed for full occupancy. 

Economy Twin Rooms are around 18mand are available for single use. Available at no supplement for the first one single room booked on each arrival date. A supplement applies to additional single occupancy rooms.

Meals

The Holiday Club Spa Hotel is on a half board basis for guests staying within the hotel, this includes breakfast and dinner. For guests staying within the apartments, these are on a self catering board basis - meals are not included. There is an option to pre-book half board at the Holiday Club Spa, which includes breakfast and dinner. 

Breakfast is buffet style often including a continental offering of pastries, bread, fresh fruit, yogurt and daily hot options. Open between 7am-10am.

Dinner is a three-course buffet served from 5pm-8pm or you can receive an €11 credit towards the à la carte menu at Restaurant Rakka, when having a three-course meal.

Festive buffet dinners are included on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
