Serre Chevalier takes its name from the peak that dominates the valley shared by old villages and new resorts alike. It has a feel of provincial France and, with its large ski area including 250km of marked piste, must surely be one of France’s best kept secrets! Our chosen resort is the old village of Villeneuve with its good selection of bars, restaurants and shops plus a relaxed and informal nightlife; its position in the centre of the valley offers marvellous skiing convenience from which to explore the whole domain and, together with the possibility of skiing one day in Alpe d’Huez, les Deux Alpes, Puy St. Vincent or the Italian Milky Way (included with the Grand Serre Che lift pass), is ideal for skiers of all standards.
