Gressoney is set amidst the stunning peaks of the Monterosa mountain range in the Aosta Valley and offers one of the largest skiing areas in the world. With at least 180km of piste across 3 valleys of the Monterosa ski area there is plenty to challenge skiers and boarders alike, many of whom are attracted by the high-altitude, spectacular scenery of 4000m peaks and famous off-piste descents. The ski area links the 3 resorts of Champoluc, Alagna and Gressoney, with Gressoney strategically located at the centre. Gressoney itself is made up of 3 settlements; the traditional mountain villages of Gressoney St. Jean and Gressoney La Trinité and the purpose-built Stafal at the head of the valley. From both Stafal and La Trinité there is easy access to the entire ski area. Après-ski is mainly centred in the villages where there are lively local bars and cafés.
