Founded in 1962, the attractive purpose-built resort of Vail brings Alpine charm to the American Rockies. Ranked as one of the finest ski resorts in the world, Vail offers a wide variety of skiing for all ability levels on the largest single ski mountain in the USA. On powder days, and there are many, the legendary Back Bowls and gladed off-piste runs of Blue Sky Basin will provide memories of a lifetime. Vail’s ‘Colorado’ ski pass covers the neighbouring resort of Beaver Creek, as well as Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. The pedestrianised centres of Vail Village and Lionshead offer a wide selection of shops and plenty of non-skiing activities. Nightlife is varied and lively with a fantastic choice of bars, restaurants and entertainment.
