Inghams Executive Director Hugh Walton is impressed. Find out why….
I was first asked to look at the Hotel Galeazzi in Gardone last September to see if it might be suitable to be run on the lines of our mountain Chalet Hotels which have become increasingly popular with our Lakes & Mountains guests over the last couple of years.
I loved the hotel, its location just a few minutes from the lakeside and its swimming pool. However, I felt that the owners were not making the most of the hotel. There was nowhere for guests to eat outside on warm evenings, not enough sun beds and frankly, a rather drab lounge.
I went back there last week. What a transformation! The car park has been transformed into a lovely outdoor sitting area; there’s now a terrace outside the dining room which can accommodate all the guests in one sitting; plenty of chairs and sun loungers and completely refurbished lounge inside.
My visit coincided (not deliberately I promise) with the hotel’s first barbecue of the season. Marcus, the Head Chef who has worked for us for several season in our other hotels, and his team produced a terrific spread for us and the desserts were to die for!
We’re delighted to share this with you as it’s a perfect example of what happens when Inghams takes over a property to run as part of its programme. The Galeazzi wasn’t up to our usual high, exacting standards so we worked together with the hotel owners to shape it into the superb property that it is today. I am impressed and I believe our guests will be too.
That’s not all, we’ve got some terrific offers for the Hotel Galeazzi on our website right now. Bearing in mind that the prices include FREE packed lunches, FREE afternoon tea & cake, a FREE boat trip across the lake to Sirmione and lots, lots more. Inghams guests are in for a real treat here this summer!
