The Hotel Galeazzi opened it’s doors on Saturday 2nd May for Summer 2015. The first arrivals were greeted by the enthusiastic staff and the welcoming management team, Michela and Jessica.
There is so much to choose from in Gardone that we have asked our guests for some of the highlights from their first 24 hours in resort. After starting the day with a freshly prepared breakfast all of the Galeazzi guests had a chance to explore the local area before joining their free boat trip to Sirmione in the afternoon.
Views from the old town of Gardone, a short walk from the Hotel Galeazzi.
Gardone is even home to quite a unique water fountain. Not only can you fill a bottle with natural, fresh water; there is even frizzante water available!
Many other guests chose to spend their first morning exploring the lakefront promenade:
Every Sunday Inghams run a private boat trip to Sirmione, which is included in the holiday for guests staying at the Galeazzi. It is a great way to spend the afternoon, as well as getting a chance to enjoy great views of Gardone from the lake, it enables guests to get a tour alongside the Isola del Garda and views of the villa there which you cannot see from the resort.
Arriving into Sirmione by boat provides some fantastic views, and with 2 hours to explore, there is plenty to see.
Italy is well known for delicious ice cream, and Lake Garda is no exception. Sirmione is the perfect place to enjoy a scoop or two whilst exploring the beautiful narrow, cobbled streets. There are well over 200 flavours of ice cream available in the town, and they even boast the 6 scoop cone!
After an enjoyable day exploring the local area, what better way to relax before dinner than enjoying aperitivo’s back in Gardone in a lakeside cafe in the sunshine.
After returning to the hotel to change for dinner, guests were greeted by canapés and aperitives in the Hotel Galeazzi.
The kitchen staff prepared a wonderful meal, including main course choices of lamb or sea bream, finishing with a berry mille-feuille.
After such a wonderful first day in Gardone, you might question what our guests are now going to do for the remainder of their stay! Well, the answer is lots! Today several people joined the popular Lake Tour, having seen a small part of the lake on Sunday, they wanted to experience even more of this beautiful area. Everyone has made some excellent plans, including hiking in the mountains behind the hotel, taking the ferry to neighbouring towns, visiting the food festival in neighbouring Maderno, and even venturing a little further afield to Verona and Venice. Gardone really is the perfect base for a Lake Garda holiday; whether you are looking for an active break, sightseeing or simply relaxing, the Hotel Galeazzi and Gardone offer something for everyone!
