Long Live Ski Hosting!

In the face of legislation from the French and Italian authorities, ski hosting, or social skiing as it is now known by some, has not only been wiped out from winter resorts in those countries, but has been dropped by some British ski operators altogether.

We wouldn’t dream of it!

All the more reason we think, to remember what ski hosting is all about and to appreciate it in those fantastic resorts where it can still be enjoyed.

Ski hosting has always been a great way to meet like-minded skiers! It’s perfect for anyone skiing solo and just as useful to anyone on holiday with friends and family. Whether you’re heading off as a group for the third year running, you’re skiing for your thirtieth year, or you’re roaming free whilst everyone else is in ski school, there’s something in it for everyone.

Simply because you’ve been friends for years, you’re mildly telepathic, or you’re wildly in love, you’re not necessarily compatible with your travel companions on the slopes! Of course you’ll ski together and you’ll have a lovely time, but if one of you is taking just a little bit longer to find your feet and someone wants to either speed ahead or amble behind, ski hosting takes the pressure off. It’s a fantastic way to find like-minded skiers and, of course, boarders!

Another huge bonus to ski hosting, even if only for a few hours, is that it’s a phenomenal way to orientate yourselves on the slopes. Chances are, that even if you’ve been to the resort before, you’ve only done a week or so of skiing and since then, things could have changed! With one of our reps leading the way, you can make the most of their expert knowledge whether that’s the best runs for first thing in the morning, the quietest mid-afternoon, the perfect strudel on the slopes or the cheapest mountaintop meals.

If you’re looking for somewhere with ski hosting this winter, this is our comprehensive list of Inghams hosted resorts. So, without further ado, get clicking!
