Hotel Ambasciatori is luxurious and modern with a fab location beside Riccione's lovely beachfront promenade. You'll find yourself in a prime spot for spending relaxing days on the sandy beach or exploring the Viale Ceccarini - the heart of the shopping and entertainment district. A 15-minute stroll to the train station means you can easily go further afield too - Bologna is just under an hour away by train.

There’s plenty of opportunity to relax here. Enjoy a swim in the large 50 square metre outdoor pool, which is heated to 28°C or grab a lounger on the wooden decking and soak up the sun. Head across the road to the wide sandy beach if you’d rather have sea views while you sunbathe. The hotel’s got loungers and parasols here that are free for you to use. The highlight of the hotel has to be the new wellness centre. There’s a relaxing hydro massage, sauna and Turkish bath (payable locally).

In the evening we recommend taking a stroll along the promenade which has lots of bars, restaurants and gelaterias. There’s lots of places to choose from for dinner in the town but we can the hotel’s Le Bistrot Restaurant. It’s got great views over the Adriatic Sea and specializes in the traditional cuisine of the Romagna region, created with care by the chef with fresh seasonal produce.

Transfer time: approx. 1 hour 25 mins by private car from Bologna airport.

Adriatic Coast

The Italian Adriatic Coast is home to broad sandy beaches, clear waters, vibrant towns and historical villages. The eastern coast of Italy has long been the preferred seaside destination for Italian holiday makers and attracts people from across Europe to enjoy the well established beach scene of the Emilia Romagna coastal region. Explore the seaside towns from the quiet little resort of Cattolica to the south, Gabicce Mare which boarders the beautiful Monte San Bartol nature reserve, Riccione that is famed as one of Italy's original seaside resorts, the buzzing Roman town of Rimini or head to Forli a town dotted with Romanesque architecture beside the deep blue of the Adriatic Sea.

The coast in this region is lined by long beaches and lagoons, its mostly flat making for plenty of safe bathing spots for children. With miles of sandy beaches lined by bars and elegant hotels the area epitomizes the quintessential Italian beach holiday resort, yet is marbled with history, beautiful architecture and deep rooted culinary tradition. After days spent relaxing on the wide stretches of beach why not head inland to the hills where you'll find quiet medieval hamlets and fortified towns and villages, great for days of exploration.
