Tropea Holidays

Set on Calabria’s east coast, Tropea is a striking clifftop town. Its historic centre has lots to offer including bars, restaurants and small local shops. Wander through the maze of lanes lined by palazzi and dotted with pretty piazzas, and stop to admire the church of Santa Maria dell’Isola, a reconstructed 4th century monastery. Perched high atop a rocky outcrop beside the clear blue Tyrrhenian Sea, the fairy tale like structure looks out across the 'Coast of the Gods'. It’s well worth the climb up the winding steps carved into the rock face just for the view alone!

If you don't fancy the climb, spend your days relaxing on the beautiful beaches instead. Backed by dramatic cliffs, Tropea boasts plenty of sandy spots to lay down your towel. Tropea is also a great base for exploring this beautiful region, with its ancient villages, mountainous national parks and some of Italy's finest coastlines. You can even head further afield with an excursion to the stunning Aeolian Islands.

Inghams operate a telephone Rep service in Tropea.
