See the stars of Italy on a 10 day tour of Venice, Florence and Rome. Begin in the magical archipelago of Venice, where you’ll get to know the city, learn about its history and sample its food and its wine. Next you’ll head through the rolling Tuscan hills towards Florence, where you’ll experience the local delicacies on a culinary adventure from the Tuscan villages to the buzz Florence’s Mercato Centrale. The tour will lead you to Rome, a centre of culture and religion, where you’ll explore the iconic sights as well as treasures slightly off the beaten track.

Day 1: Fly to Venice Airport where you’ll meet by your tour manager and be transferred by coach to your hotel in Mestre, Venice. You’ have time to settle in to the hotel and to get to know your fellow travellers. Dinner can be enjoyed at a restaurant close to the hotel.
Day 2: Today you’ll head to the lagoon city of Venice. Head to the near by train station with your tour escort and catch the train into the beautiful city. Meet your local English speaking guide in Piazza San Marco. The morning will be spent getting to know the enchanting city. Travel like a local and catch the Vaporetto to the colourful island of Burano. Here you’re tour escort will take you on a stroll through the picturesque town famed for its lace making. The day continues into the evening as you cross over to the nearby Island of Mazzorbo where you’ll find the Venissa Wine Estate. Watch the sun go down over the picturesque bell tower of the ancient Church of St. Michael whilst tasting the wines from the surrounding vineyards. Return by rail to the comfort of your hotel in Mestre for your evening meal.
Day 3: The sightseeing continues as you head back into Venice with your tour escort. Meet your local guide in the Jewish Ghetto area. Discover the rich history of Venice’s Jewish Ghetto and escape the crowds of St Mark’s Square with a stroll over the Academia Bridge Dorsoduro. Visit the Squaro, the ancient place where traditional Venetian boats are built and repaired. See one of the few examples of these still in operation. Here you’ll learn about the skill and craftsmanship of building the famous Venetian gondolas. See how they use ancient and traditional techniques to build the beautiful boats.
Day 4: A Railway journey will bring you to Florence.
Day 5: Today you’ll be taken on a culinary adventure around the city of Florence. The public bus stop just in front of the hotel will take you to Florence’s city centre where you’ll begin a day of sampling the local Florentine delicacies on a food tour of the city. Begin at the Mercato Centrale, Florence’s bustling central market. You’ll be hit by a kaleidoscope of colours and smells, from the colourful Mediterranean herbs and vegetables to the fragrant fresh olive oil. Sample the Florentine Salami, Pecorin cheese from Pienza and fresh bread baked in a wood burning stove. The tour will lead you through the heart of Florence where you can marvel at the city’s stunning architecture, elegant boutiques and gourmet food restaurants and stalls. Take a break with a masterfully prepared Italian espresso and try the fresh Tuscan pastries. The culinary adventure continues with the chance to taste home-made Italian Gelato and of course you’ll need something to drink….sample some of Tuscany’s finest wines. Later on you’ll be immersed in the aromatic world of Florentine perfumery as you visit the 15th Century palazzo of Lorenzo Villoresi, an artisan perfumer. Here you’ll be guided through the smells and fragrances by an expert in the creation of bespoke Tuscan fragrances.
Day 6: Tour the Chianti on a day of wine tasting. Soak up the stunning landscape of the region, with its rolling hills covered with vineyards and olive groves, dotted by picturesque stone villages. Enjoy a day touring the Tuscan hills, whilst tasting the wines of the region. For lunch you’ll stop at a famous Italian butchers and enjoy a traditional fresh Tuscan bread and spicy meat ragu.
Day 7: Travel to Rome by train and arrive in your hotel for an evening meal.
Day 8: Explore the magical Vatican City where you’ll meet your knowledgeable local guide for a tour around the Vatican Museum and Basilica. What better way to explore parts of the city than on foot, enjoy a walking tour around the trendy Trastevere district of Rome. You will be led through the streets learning about the history of the area and end at a local pizza restaurant for your evening meal.
Day 9: Rome is known for its fantastic art and architecture. Your knowledgeable guide will introduce you to stunning works of art by the likes of Titian and Bernini as you are taken on a guided visit of the Borghese Gallery. After, you’ll be taken on a guided walking tour of the beautiful gardens of Villa Borghese finishing at Piazza del Popolo. In the afternoon you’ll have free time to explore the city yourself before heading back to the hotel for dinner.
Day 10: On the last day you’ll be taken to Rome airport for your flight home.

Hotel Villa Costanza ★★★ – Mestre Venice
The Hotel Villa Costanza is housed in an elegant 19th century building in Mestre, a great location just outside the centre of Venice. The train station is a couple of minutes’ walk from the hotel and you’ll be in the heart of Venice in just 10 minutes by train. The comfortable rooms are simply decorated in a modern style using warm earthy tones, whilst retaining some of the buildings 19th century charm with most of the rooms having wooden beamed ceilings. After a busy day of exploring Venice, the hotel's bar and restaurant is the perfect place to refuel.
Hotel D'Annunzio ★★★★ – Florence
This beautiful 19th century building of Hotel D'Annunzio is a former convent. Close to the centre of Florence and surrounded by gardens, it provides a relaxing retreat during your time in Florence. In the gardens there is a swimming pool where guests can cool off after a day of exploring the city. The simply furnished rooms are spacious and bright. Enjoy a generous buffet breakfast in the breakfast room. The hotel's lounge bar is the perfect spot to relax in the evening.
Excel Roma Montemario ★★★★ – Rome
The Excel Roma Montemario is nestled in the heart of a natural reserve just outside Rome. Surrounded by nature it is a great retreat after a day spent exploring the sights of Rome. The traditional rooms are light and comfortable. The hotel's M & G restaurant provides a fine dining experience, serving original and imaginative specialties with fresh local ingredients. There is also an outdoor summer pool (approx. €10 payable locally) and fitness room for those feeling active.
Your Food: In all of the hotels there will be a buffet breakfast each morning and in the evening there will be a three course meal with a fixed menu.
