Hotel Paradiso’s location on Posillipo Hill means it has absolutely stunning views over the Gulf of Naples with the beautiful backdrop of Mount Vesuvius. Just down the hill, you’ll find the Mergellina Harbour with a handful of restaurants and a metro station that’s makes sightseeing in and around Naples easy. You’re also close to Virgiliano Park where on a clear day you can see Capri to the south and Ischia to the west from its vantage point at the top of the hill. A market sets up outside the park’s gates every Thursday morning so plan your trip around that if you want to head home with a few souvenirs.

At the hotel you can expect modern rooms that have been finished in light colours with splashes of blue. Some have views over the gardens but we’d recommend upgrading to a sea view room for spectacular views. The restaurant's located on the top floor of the hotel, which makes breakfast each morning pretty special. It's open for dinner with Neapolitan specialties on the menu.

Transfer time: approx. 25 mins by private car from Naples airport.

Naples is the lively capital of Campania. This distinctly southern city doesn’t pull any punches, sprawling out around the Bay of Naples in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius.

You could start your sightseeing in Piazza del Plebiscito, which comes framed by the neoclassical Royal Palace of Naples. Nearby, a pair of castles offers sunset-watching platforms. Or you could always turn your attention underground, where you can tour ancient tunnels and catacombs.

Naples’ main claim to fame, though, is as the birthplace of pizza. That’s thanks to Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba – a pizzeria that started life as a food stall in the 18th century.
