Peschiera is one of the most relaxed towns on Lake Garda. Despite being quite large, it has a very laid back feel and you won’t get the busy tourist crowds unlike some of the more well-known places. It’s a great base too – it’s one of the only two towns with a train station so you can easily get to Verona or Venice. Ferries run regularly to all resorts in the south of the lake and you can use the bus to get to the north.
The town has a real charm to it. You can do some great walks along the River Mincio – the pathways follow the old medieval walls. The centre is completely pedestrianised with lots of shops to browse and riverside cafés to stop off for a drink. There’s two beaches that are around a ten-minute walk from the centre so you can chill out next to the lake all day if you feel like it. Or fuel your adrenaline with a trip to Gardaland or Caneva World, both are a short bus ride away.
