Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel

  • Italy, Rome

Originally designed as a convent at the end of the 17th century by the famous architect Francesco Borromini, Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel has been lovingly converted into a beautiful hotel without changing its original features, such as the church that can be found next to the building and the jaw dropping marble staircase that welcomes guests with pure elegance. The furniture and oil paintings dotted around the hotel date back to XVΙΙ and XVΙΙΙ centuries.

The hotel is located in Trastevere, on the west bank of Tiber, a short walk from the bars, restaurants and shops but also the main attractions. The hotels terrace has superb views over the city that can be enjoyed while sipping on a glass of wine or a cocktail. Enjoy peaceful walks in the beautiful garden that houses a baroque fountain.

Rome

With 3,000 years of history Rome truly is the ‘Eternal City’. Many of the wonders of this city are not in the museums but in the streets, and in fact the entire historical centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. From the magnificent Roman monuments such as the Colosseum and the Pantheon, with its amazing domed roof still perfectly intact, to ‘la dolce vita’ of the swish Via Veneto, Rome has so much to fascinate the visitor. There are many marvels: the outstanding works of art accumulated by popes, wealthy patrons of the finest artists in Europe; the treasures of the Vatican and the Sistine chapel by Michelangelo – few cities make the past such an enjoyable experience.
