Northern Sardinia has a beautiful coastline with rocky bays and coves. In the far north you'll find Santa Terresa Galluria, a coastal town full of character with views across to Corsica. The lovely coastal town of Cannigione is set in a sheltered location at the end of a deep bay created by a river inlet. The village was originally a bustling fishing village but is now recognised as popular tourist destination, with its artisan shops, trattorias and beautiful views through the village streets across the bay.
Slightly further east, Costa Smeralda area, known as the emerald coast is famed for its glamorous atmosphere and crystal clear waters. From this part of Sardinia you'll have wonderful views across to the archipelago of La Maddalena; a small group of islands with sandy beaches and turquoise waters.
Located on the Gulf Asinara the resort of Isola Rossa is famous for its pristine white sandy beaches and clear blue waters, spectacular reefs and under water caverns that are home for a wide variety of underwater species. The resort and surrounding area are great for those wanting a relaxing pace for their vacation, spend days strolling the beaches before relaxing in a local Trattoria to enjoy freshly prepared local seafood and Sardinian specialities.
