Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

The Grand Hotel Plaza is one of the oldest hotels in Montecatini and it commands a prime position in the centre of the town, overlooking Piazza del Popolo.

As you step into the hotel’s grand lobby, you’ll appreciate the effort that has gone into maintaining the building’s original features. This traditional style continues throughout the hotel in its comfortable guest rooms and Tuscan restaurant where you can enjoy regional specialities and the best of Tuscany’s wines.

A small pool provides a welcome spot to relax on the warm summer days or you can head to the nearby thermal pools that Montecatini is known for. Those wishing to explore further afield will appreciate being close to the train station, where regular services run to Florence, Lucca and Pisa. Northern Tuscany & Montecatini

North Tuscany is home to two of Italy’s most famous cities: Florence and Pisa. Here, art galleries, palazzos and Michelin-starred restaurants vie for your attention.

For something a little more laid-back, consider staying in a smaller city. Little Lucca comes ringed by Renaissance walls. Cycle or walk them for long-range views over both the city and Tuscan countryside.

Meanwhile, the thermal waters of Montecatini have been reeling in day trippers since Roman times. Explore the art nouveau Terme Tettuccio before hopping on the oldest funicular in the world. It takes you up to Montecatini Alto – a medieval village with spectacular views of North Tuscany.
