Itinerary

Day 1: UK to Reykjavík

Day 2: Reykjavík to the Westman Islands

The escorted tour will start today with a visit to the Lava Centre. Teaching you about the volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland over the millions of years, all through its interactive and high- tech exhibition. The next stop will be at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall which is truly breath-taking. You can even walk behind the waterfall. The journey to Landeyjahofn harbour is beautiful over the south coast farmlands. Here there will be a 30 minute ferry to arrive at Heimaey Island, the largest island of the Westman Islands. You will visit the picturesque but windy Storhofdi Point, some call this the windiest point in the whole of Iceland! If you are travelling between mid- May through to the beginning of August it is a great area to spot puffins! You will walk up to a volcanic crater which erupted over three decades ago, and as you walk around Heimaey Island the lava flows are still visible throughout the town.

Day 3: South Iceland: Skógafoss & Reynisfjara

Then Kirkjubaejarklaustur which is a small town and former 12th century Catholic convent, and finally the glimmering Skaftafell Glacier.
