The Trasimeno is a family-run hotel in the centre of Passignano offering comfortable accommodation in a quiet location just 50 metres from the lakeside. There are several excellent restaurants in resort offering good value set evening menus (list and map from reception). The train station and ferry point are 300 metres away.
Set in rural Umbria near the Tuscany border, your holiday in Trasimeno is ideally placed to explore these two fascinating regions. Assisi, Perugia, Siena and Florence are all accessible in a day. Castiglione lies on the south-western shore of the lake. Its old walled town overlooks the lake and is a delight to explore. Passignano (main picture) sits on the northern shore. Its historic centre of cobbled streets is dominated by an imposing fortress. Both resorts have lake bathing and ferry services to the islands of Maggiore and Polvese and excellent restaurants serving local cuisine. There is also plenty of walking to enjoy in the Trasimeno National Park, as well as a fascinating Etruscan history to explore.
