Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, is one of the oldest cities in the world and certainly one of the most cosmopolitan. Ideal for a short break or stay a little longer, there is plenty to do here. Just 20 minutes away by train lies the pleasant town of Setúbal on Portugal’s ‘Blue Coast’, known for its crystal blue waters, bays and beaches. However most visitors come to visit the Arrábida Natural Park with its many walking opportunities or the Estuaria do Sado Natural Reserve for bird-watching. The island of Madeira lies in the Atlantic Ocean some 600 miles southwest of mainland Europe. It’s blessed with a warm, mild climate, dramatic scenery and an abundance of flowers everywhere you go.
