There is much to discover in Portugal’s cosmopolitan capital and its surrounding landscape - from Belém, home to Jeróminos Monastery to the historic Alfama district and waterfront, to trips further afield including Sintra, Fátima, Cascais and Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point in mainland Europe. Guests who wish to explore the Arrábida National Park for guided walking should stay on the nearby Setúbal peninsula, approx. 20 minutes by train from Lisbon.
Eating Out in Lisbon
Dining out in the city is a fantastic experience with a wide selection of reasonably-priced and delicious options available - sample the traditional Portuguese cuisine or opt for a more international menu.
Many restaurants offer lunchtime menus for less than €10 per person including a drink, and an average 2 course evening meal incl. wine is approx. €20 - €30 per person. Many of the bars are open late with regular ‘Fado’ music dance nights taking place!
