Excursions by rail
There are many delightful walks around and above the village, meandering through pine forests and flower-filled meadows. The excellent network of mountain railways and cable-cars gives those on holidays in Wengen easy access to endless excursion possibilities - why not take the highest mountain railway in the world to the top of the Jungfraujoch, or the cable-car up to Männlichen for stunning views of the Eiger? Walkers should take the opportunity to travel across the valley to Mürren, and Interlaken and its lakes are also within easy reach. Wengen is the perfect base from which to explore the entire Jungfrau region.
