With Kitzbühel at its heart, the Kitzbüheler Alpen is a ski region made up of many big names in the Alpine ski world including: Kirchberg, Kitzbühel, St. Johann (Schneewinkel), Söll, Ellmau, Westendorf and Scheffau. The skiing is on a massive scale and one ski pass covers numerous different regions (AllStarCard lift pass bookable locally). Ski buses and trains connect outlying ski areas in the Kitzbüheler Alpen, whilst the Ski Welt area is all linked with lifts and offers huge ski distances to cover. Kitzbühel, Kirchberg and St. Johann all offer fantastic ski holiday resorts and excellent skiing. With more than 1000 kilometres of pistes in Tyrol and Salzburg - the Kitzbüheler Alpen AllStarCard is your entry card to ten of the most interesting ski areas in Europe, which have been incorporated in the Kitzbüheler Alpen skiing association. The ski areas all offer high levels of snow assuredness, great quality pistes and state-of-the-art ski lifts.
Few ski resorts have the charisma of this iconic resort, with its celebrated Kitzbühel downhill, the Streif run on the famous Hahnenkamm – arguably the most challenging World Cup downhill in the world (don’t try to ski it - at least not from the top!).More information
St. Johann is a pretty resort ideally placed in the centre of the Schneewinkel ski area. With its own excellent intermediate area (including a dozen wonderful mountain restaurants!) and a total of 170km of pistes in five resorts covered on the 'Schneewinkel' area lift pass, this is an ideal choice for skiers of all levels. It is also a superb resort for cross-country skiing, with tracks in all directions offering a network of 275km of trails. The semi-pedestrianised resort centre has plenty of cafés and bars in which to enjoy some après-ski and nightlife.More information
