The family-run Hotel Chalet Mounier was one of the first hotels to be built in Les 2 Alpes and it has been smartly modernised yet still retains a character of its own. You will be immediately won over by the charm of the place with its cosy lounges, the excellent leisure facilities, the savoury aromas and reputation for food and the exceptional hospitality of the Mounier family. To promote sustainable tourism, Chalet Mounier has renewed its 'Green Key' label, an international benchmark for environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism operations. This coveted award reflects businesses commitment to adhering to the Foundation for Environmental Education's criteria.

During the day there is a complimentary hotel shuttle service to and from the lifts, alternatively the Diable chair lift is a 5 minutes' walk away and the ski school meeting point and Jandri Express are a 10 minutes' walk.

Family run

The story of  Le Chalet Mounier began in 1879 with the construction of a farmhouse inn. The Mounier family converted the inn into a hotel in 1933, and since then it has run by generations of the family. They have managed to keep all of the inn's historic charm intact, providing guests with a peaceful retreat in the French Alps. With a cosy lounge and welcoming bar, delicious gourmet restaurant, luxury spa and conveniently located by the ski slopes, this hotel ticks all the boxes for a winter getaway

Food and drink

The Chalet Mounier has two restaurants, where their focus on sustainability stands out, so you are spoilt for choice.  Half board meals are served in the chic Le Chalet Mounier restaurant - the three course dinner menu is inspired by the Michelin-starred Le P'tit Polyte's cuisine, the dishes feature a blend of authentic tastes and creativity, featuring fresh, local and in-season produce. Alternatively, enjoy an amazing culinary experience at Le P'tit Polyte for a special occasion or a holiday treat (pay locally). Serving inventive and astounding cuisine, Le P'tit Polyte is the highest altitude Michelin-starred restaurant in the Isère area. To find the perfect accompaniment for your meal, a extensive wine menu with a selection of over 500 wines is available.

Cinq Mondes Spa

There's no better place to unwind after a day of skiing on Les 2 Alpes than the hotel's spa, which is accessible to both visitors and Cinq Mondes Spa customers. Make use of the sauna and steam room's healing properties, relax in the jacuzzi, or go for a swim in the indoor pool. For an extra treat, you can book a variety of massages and beauty treatments locally. With a variety of equipment in the fitness area, you can stay active - even off the slopes.

Les 2 Alpes

  • Resort altitude of 1650 metres
  • Skiing to 3568 metres
  • Over 225 kilometres of slopes

Les 2 Alpes stretches along a spectacular valley which has developed in to a popular ski resort from its original mountain origins, with magnificent scenery which can be enjoyed from the top of the glacier. The après ski is lively with an impressive number of shops, bars, restaurants and animated nightlife. The whole resort lies alongside the main pistes so you are never far from one of the many lifts. Les 2 Alpes is a snow sure mountain resort with over 225 kilometres of slopes - 70% of these slopes being over 2000 metres in altitude, so throughout the season you'll be guaranteed natural snow. The ski area is vast and diverse, giving you access to a wide selection of slopes, fun zones, boarder cross and a brand new beginner area. Les 2 Alpes is recognised as a family friendly resort, having been awarded the Family Plus label for it's personalised welcome and activities/entertainment for all ages.

Skiing and snowboarding in Les 2 Alpes

There's over 225km of skiing available in Les 2 Alpes and there's a number of runs for all abilities. Beginners will enjoy the gentle greens in Les Cretes while intermediates and experts will enjoy the mix of red and black runs in the La Fée valley.

Les 2 Alpes is currently investing 153 million euros over the next 3 years to make their resort even more accessible and enjoyable, no matter your snow sports experience. As of 2023, there will be an additional new beginners zones at the foot of the slopes, and the Diable chairlift is also being turned into a telemix - a combination of chairlifts and gondolas - to get you where you want to be even quicker. The Viking-Gentianes which opened in 2022 and Grand Bosquet in 2023 provides you with free access to a magic carpet and drag lift.

With the goal of making the Vallee Blanche accessible for all levels, two new lifts are being made to transport you comfortably up to the 2100m summit and this experience will be enhanced by the creation of the first green trail in the ski area. There's also construction underway for a conveyor belt and ski lift on the Champamé side that will connect the Les 2 Alpes 1800 sector to the rest of resort. The good news is that this will be accessible even if you're not planning on skiing.

For winter 2024, there will be the brand new 3S cable car that'll travel from 1650 metres to the mountains summit at 3200 metres. It'll be replacing the current Jandri Express and in doing so will reduce your journey from 40 minutes to 15 minutes - meaning more time hitting the slopes!
