France, Les Deux Alpes
The family-run Hotel Chalet Mounier was one of the first hotels to be built in the resort and it has been smartly modernised yet still retains a character of its own. You will be immediately won over by the charm of the place with its cosy lounges, the excellent leisure facilities, the savoury aromas and reputation for food and the exceptional hospitality of the Mounier family.
It is possible to take meals in the hotel's 1 Michelin Star gastronomic restaurant Le Petit Polyte (with a supplement payable locally).

With 225km of pistes between 1,300m and 3,600m, Les 2 Alpes is ideal for all levels of skiers and boarders. Unusually, the higher the altitude, the easier the pistes. In fact, the glacier is ideal for beginners and new for the 15/16 winter season is a blue run taking skiers from the glacier right down to the resort. Les 2 Alpes stretches along a spectacular valley which has developed into a popular ski resort from its original mountain origins. The après-ski is lively with an impressive number of shops, bars, restaurants and animated nightlife. The whole resort lies alongside the main pistes so you are never far from one of the many lifts. Beyond these is high- altitude skiing and magnificent scenery which can be enjoyed from the top of the glacier. The village itself is a compact community located on a plateau, so it’s easy to walk everywhere - even with a pushchair! There are many activities for children: a swimming pool, ice rink, three secured sledding runs, ice gliders (ice-karting at the ice-rink), and bowling, with some lanes especially adapted for small children. Every week, the tourist office organises free entertainment for children such as painting, ice sculpting, dancing, and night-time shows.
