The Monterosa ski area is renowned as one of the largest skiing areas in Italy, spread across the three valleys of Gressoney, Champoluc and Alagna. There’s plenty to challenge boarders and skiers alike, with a great selection of high-altitude skiing, some testing off-piste descents and the glacier area with spectacular scenery. With everything from skiing in the trees to wide-open glades, the variety of skiing is ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders. Along with the stunning backdrop of the Monterosa mountains, all this makes Gressoney one of the best ski resorts in Italy.Gressoney is split into two areas - Stafal and La Trinité - each with its own centre and village life. There’s excellent cross-country skiing in both villages, with more than 20 miles of tracks. Ski holidays in Gressoney offer informal, easy going après-ski based around local bars and cafes. La-Trinité has some delightful cobbled streets lined with attractive chalets.
